Test Methods of Nissan NES M0154 Automobile Fabrics

The “Nissan NES M0154 Test methods of automobile fabrics” standard developed by the Nissan automobile company describes test methods for fabrics used in automotive seats and linings. For the purposes of this standard, fabric means woven fabrics, knitted products and non-woven fabrics. Carpets and artificial leather are outside the scope of this standard.

Test methods are classified in the table given in the standard. The standard also contains application examples. Test results are reported as numbered test piece and physical property data before each batch and during production.

Testing methods for fabrics and application include:

The standard conditions of the test area should comply with the standard “JIS Z 8703 Standard atmospheric conditions for test location”, that is, meet the standard temperature condition (Class 2 temperature 20 degrees plus/minus 2 degrees) and standard humidity condition (Class 2 relative humidity 65 percent plus/minus 5 percent humidity) should be suitable. Room temperature and relative humidity should be between 15 and 30 degrees and 40 percent to 80 percent, respectively.

The sample is dried at 40 to 50 degrees until the moisture percentage drops below the official moisture percentage level and allowed to remain in a test chamber under specified standard conditions. When the sample reaches a constant weight after the moisture absorption becomes constant and uniform, test samples are taken from the sample and allowed to remain in the test chamber.

In commercial transactions, moisture recovery defined as a rate specified in the relevant standards for absolute dry weight is applied to the fabric weight criterion.

The water balance of the sample is maintained. In this case, the sample is weighed at intervals of one hour or more. Moisture balance is a condition in which the difference in weight between the two above weighings is 0,1 percent or less of the weight of the second weighing.

Room temperature condition is a condition in which test samples are placed at the room temperature specified in the standard and allowed to remain in the test chamber. The same test sample should not be used for more than one type of test.

The test sample is randomly collected from sections with different warp and weft configurations, except for sections 50 mm from the ends of both edges. The only exception is when the sample amount is very small.

Among the numerous testing, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides testing services defined in the "Nissan NES M0154 Testing methods of automobile fabrics" standard, with a trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
