The “TESLA TP-0000706 Climatic aging of materials, components and assemblies” standard developed by TESLA, an American company that designs, manufactures and sells electric vehicles, will be used to evaluate the durability of materials, components and assemblies against climatic conditions designed to accelerate aging, subject to certain conditions. The outline of a methodology is explained.

This standard never replaces applicable laws and regulations. All material testing must be carried out by an accredited laboratory or a laboratory registered to the ISO/TS 16949 standard by an established third-party auditor. It is the supplier's responsibility to ensure that the most current versions of all specified standards are used.
Extreme temperature and humidity, inside and outside the cabin, are major environmental stressors that contribute to visual and functional deterioration of materials, components, and assemblies while the vehicle is operating. This standard provides methods by which such degradation can be artificially accelerated in a laboratory setting. Appearance or functional integrity assessments, for example, changes in color or size, are monitored as necessary.
The exposure conditions specified in this standard are designed as two procedures:
These procedures can be implemented with agreed-upon adjustments. Samples can be tested in unrestricted configuration or vehicle location. The level of suitability for the vehicle condition is agreed upon. This standard does not take into account the high levels of thermal stress caused by proximity to a heat source.
The materials and equipment used in these tests are:
Samples must be of origin, quality and quantity specified in the relevant material specification or relevant test procedure. Samples should be of appropriate geometry and size to facilitate post-test characterization as required. Correction and other secondary operations are not post-tested without prior approval.
Samples do not need to be subjected to a conditioning procedure before testing.
The default temperature and humidity values are 23 degrees plus/minus 2 degrees and 50 percent plus/minus 5 percent relative humidity. Such conditions are assumed unless otherwise stated. All temperature and humidity values stated are target values; Unless otherwise stated, these values are allowed to vary within plus/minus 2 degrees and plus/minus 5 percent relative humidity.
Exposure time periods carry a tolerance of plus/minus 5 minutes. If a sample needs to be transferred from one test environment to another within a certain cycle, this time should not take more than 1 minute.
This standard covers two separate test modules that can be carried out independently or sequentially as directed by the relevant material specification or test procedure:
Before evaluating the samples, they are refreshed at plus 3 degrees and 23 percent relative humidity for 50 hours. Post-test evaluation is carried out as specified in the relevant material specification or test procedure.
Among the numerous testing, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies provided to businesses by our organization, there are also testing services in accordance with the "TESLA TP-0000706 Climatic aging of materials, components and assemblies" standard.
