The GMW 14340 standard, developed by General Motors, describes a test method for determining biaxial tire fatigue in passenger car and light-duty truck wheels .

The biaxial wheel testing machine used in these tests is manufactured for fatigue simulation testing of wheels for industrial vehicles in perfect harmony with customer freely customizable test programs. This machine performs realistic simulations of all service stresses for complete hub assemblies, thus providing evidence of adequate service life of such assemblies and their components.
The biaxial wheel testing machine replaces the standard wheel tests, rotary bending test and rim rolling test today. Both of these tests have serious limitations and are time consuming and require separate test setups. However, it is considered necessary today. This is because only certain structural areas of the wheel can be covered in each test. However, the results of these tests should be further supported by road tests.
The test machine in question mainly complies with the following international standards:
Developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the SAE J2562 standard includes biaxial fatigue testing of wheels designed for normal road use and temporary use in passenger cars and light trucks, and uniform laboratory tests for the minimum cycle requirement for ferrous wheels for ballasted passenger vehicle applications. The appendices to this standard provide scalable load files applicable to ballasted passenger cars and ballasted light trucks.
Wheels are safety critical components of any vehicle and are subject to heavy loads throughout their lifetime. Their reliability can only be maintained by conducting tests under laboratory conditions that are as similar as possible to real loading conditions. This test procedure has become a standard in most European wheel manufacturers.
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides biaxial tire fatigue testing services within the scope of GMW 14340 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
