The VW TL 52693 standard, developed by Volkswagen automobile company, describes the material requirements for single-layer TPE floor mats (also referred to as heavy-duty mats). TPE is a new generation thermo rubber material.

The general requirements in this standard are listed as follows:
In addition, components must maintain their dimensional and functional integrity during transportation, storage, installation and subsequent use in the temperature range of minus 30 to plus 90 degrees and under climatic influences of 55 degrees and relative humidity of 95 percent. Molded parts must have a uniform surface. Surface defects such as stickiness, voids or dent marks are not allowed.
Material components and parts must be physiologically safe for humans and not cause skin irritation or unpleasant odours. Substances emitted at high temperatures must be toxicologically safe.
Likewise, it should be left to conditioning for a minimum of 554 hours in 23/50 standard climate in accordance with the "ISO 48 Standard atmospheres - Specifications for Conditioning" standard.
All tests are performed on floor mats or mat sections, preferably with the surface profile specified in the design. If samples, for example a dumbbell sample for tensile strength, cannot be obtained due to the specified profile, the test is performed on profileless flat sample panels. The main tests applied are: tensile strength, bending behavior, Taber abrasive, Schopper rotary abrasion test, cleaning agents and operating fluids, drop test, post-aging behavior, and ball drop test.
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides testing services for the material requirements of TPE mats, within the scope of VW TL 52693 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
