The GMW 14162 standard, developed by the General Motors company, describes test methods for detecting the effects of weather conditions using a xenon arc lamp source (artificial sunlight) to simulate the extreme environmental conditions encountered inside a vehicle with the effect of sunlight, heat and humidity. These test methods are used to assess color fastness as well as being an artificial aging method to assess deterioration.

Four possible exposure cycles are defined under this standard:
This test procedure was developed to establish a common method for assessing color fastness to artificial weathering. The test methods described are for testing textile materials to simulate extreme environmental conditions inside the vehicle.
In principle, nothing in this standard is a substitute for the legal regulations in force.
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides color fastness testing services against artificial bad weather conditions, within the scope of GMW 14162 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
